Sustainability

The smaller footprint and lower feed intake allows for sustainable farming on small acreages. Miniature Herefords need only 1/2 acre per adult animal, half of that required by full-sized Herefords, with half the environmental impact. The smaller animals provide a great opportunity for agricultural tax breaks on smaller parcels of land.

Family Friendly

The docile nature and smaller stature of Miniature Herefords makes them easier to handle and more manageable. They make great fair projects for kids in the show circuit, 4H, Future Farmers of America (FFA) or anyone interested in a family pet that will mow the grass and provide valuable compost.

Efficiency

The outstanding feed conversion of these animals encourages them to mature up to 20% earlier than their full-sized counterparts. This means less feed, water and care.

Quality

The average yield of a Miniature Hereford is 650 pounds (68%), compared to 900 lbs. 50% of the standard Hereford. This makes it a more manageable amount for an average family, and at the same time not sacrificing quality cuts of meat or breaking the bank. The shorter muscle length of the Miniature Herefords offers more tender beef, and the shorter bone structure yields more meat.
